The “Glass Ceiling” refers to walls that frequently prevent Women or Ethnic Americans from reaching the top tiers of corporate America.
According to a 2005 California study of women in top management, only 1 out of 10 boardroom chairs are occupied by women, in the nation’s most progressive state. With a culture of “Good-ol’-Boyism”, the situation that
faces Women, and or Minorities can make it hard, if not impossible to succeed in corporate America. Frequently, no matter how hard you work, no matter how much you produce, no matter how much of a team player you are,
the ladder only goes so high, for anyone but a white male. Even worse, some job promotions, or just keeping your job, can come at severe prices. In these instances, a Woman or Ethnic American might have to sacrifice
rights, dignity or integrity just to “get ahead”. While it’s not supposed to be this way, it is this way, and will continue to be this way, until the practices are exposed & the wrongs are dealt with. We tell our
daughters and or if you are an Ethnic Minority our son’s, that we want you to grow up to be President. But is that possible if there is a corporate or a cultural acceptance of the “Good ol’ Boy Syndrome”?
If you have information about work place discrimination, sexism, racism or any other issue that affected or is affecting your ability to climb the corporate ladder please contact us & tell us your story. We are committed to justice & equality in the work place.
